Overview
Our whitewater rafting tour on the legendary Savegre River is a premier Costa Rican eco-adventure combining thrilling class II and III rapids with unparalleled scenic mountain beauty. Born high in the misty cloud peaks of the Cerro de la Muerte cordillera, Savegre has been declared one of the cleanest rivers in all of the Americas.
The journey begins with an exciting 4x4 overland ride through remote rural villages and mountain rainforest directly into the Savegre valley. Accompanied by certified international-standard bilingual river guides and a dedicated safety kayaker, paddle through exhilarating rapids separated by calm pools where you can float and gaze up at primary rainforest canyons.
Midway along the river, our guides stop for a short walk to hidden natural swimming pools and a rushing waterfall. Watch for river kingfishers, toucans, ospreys, cormorants, and parrots. After an exhilarating 13-mile descent, conclude at our private base camp where a hot, traditional Costa Rican country meal awaits.
