Overview
The waters of the Osa Peninsula and Golfo Dulce host one of the longest humpback whale migration seasons on earth. Whales from both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres travel thousands of miles to breed and nurse their calves in these warm, sheltered tropical waters.
This ocean safari begins at 7:30 AM from Drake Bay, navigating through open pelagic waters where pods of spotted, spinner, and bottlenose dolphins frequently bow-ride alongside our boat. We spend 3 to 4 hours searching for majestic humpback whale breaches, tail slaps, and mother-calf pairs. The tour concludes with a visit to the tranquil waters of San Josecito Beach for swimming, snorkeling, and a fresh picnic lunch.
