Overview

The San Pedrillo Ranger Station is the northern gateway to Corcovado National Park, famous for dramatic coastline where dense virgin rainforest rolls directly into the Pacific Ocean. Here, trees stand up to 60 meters (200 feet) tall and boast root systems thousands of years old.

Beginning with a scenic 30-minute boat ride from Drake Bay, this tour includes two distinct guided walks. The morning trail explores deep primary rainforest where your guide points out medicinal plants, monkeys, coatis, tamanduas (anteaters), and scarlet macaws. After a picnic lunch at the ranger station, you hike along the river canyon to the stunning San Pedrillo Waterfall for a revitalizing swim in natural crystal-clear mountain pools.
