Another option for a half-day tour are the Venado Caves where in between the darkness, the bats, the tarantulas, stretch places and the water, you will be able to observe a big quantity of stalactites and stalagmites that give this singular place a great scenic form.
This tour starts at 8:00a.m. with destiny to the small town of the Venado in a confortable microbus you will be able to appreciate the panoramic view of the north area, such as the green scenario and the pastures for the cattle.
In the way to our primary objective big plantations of yuca, sugar cane and oranges can be appreciated.
Then we will reach the entrance to the caves where all the instructions will be given in order to make your stay in the caverns more satisfactory together with the safety equipment and recomendations.
To continue we will make a hiking of around 3 kilometers in 3hours and a half and we will be able to observe how the stalactites and stalagmites and the big formations of coral that take natural forms, were created through time.
A part of this caves is covered by a subterraneous river that follows the way to another area called “the windows” and in order to get there you will have to walk with the water up to your waist makig your adventure even more exciting and finally coming out of the caves, taking a shower and then returning to your hotels in La fortuna.
