In order to enjoy this totally different and complete tour, full of life and nature, we will begin our day very early in the morning around 7:00a.m. We will be leaving La Fortuna in a comfortable microbus with destiny to the dam of the Embalm Arenal, there we will board a boat properly equipped which will take us through the Arenal Lake during 20 minutes.

During this trip we will be able to observe the Arenal Volcano from another angle and notice this way the marks of past eruptions (1988,1992), the most important in this area.
Reaching the town of El Castillo we will take a short rest, while we get ready to start our trip on horses that will take us more than a hundred years back in the history of transportation in Costa Rica through a trail, that our grandparents used in the past as a mean of communication between small towns of the region. Today it is one of the most beautiful tourist scenes of the country in which we can observe the natural richness of its soils, represented in the diversity of its flora.
Numerous variety of birds such as toucans, oropéndolas trogons, booboos and also mammals such as the pizote, monkeys, martillas and tejones, just to mention some will be possible to be seen during our tour of around 31/2 hours, crossing rivers, secondary forests, primary forests, and climbing up mountains with impressing views to the Arenal Lake and the whole surroundings of this exuberant region.

We will also make a stop in the middle of the rainforest and the cloudy forest to eat some fruits and beverages (light food due to the type of transportation and terrain).
After enjoying juicy tropical fruits typical of our country we will continue our trip to the San Gerardo, later an appropriate vehicle for the area and its roads will take us to the hotel previously selected.
